Junior Software Engineer/Support Analyst

In this entry level role as Junior Developer you will be part of the Technical Services team, supporting by coordinating project tasks, ensuring timely communication, and assisting in the day-to-day demand of the support both internally and externally. Expect to be kept on your toes as the role will be varied covering multiple sports and different sizes of clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understanding and supporting the data requirements for the business.
- Assist our support team to find solutions to a variety of client issues.
- Identify and assist in fixing bugs across various products.
- Establishing and building relationships internally across client services, creative and tech/support teams
- Working with the development team on new features to improve our products.
- Assist in creating new interactive experiences for a variety of clients.
- Occasional out-of-hours user support as part of wider team given that sport happens globally and outside business hours
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in both C# and JavaScript or a willingness to learn if strong with another language (Python/Java/Etc.).
- Ability to call various API services and integration of data.
- Ability to make use of SQL Databases, writing basic queries and being comfortable making schema changes.
- A relentless curiosity to solve complex problems.
- Competencies in HTML and CSS, with a basic understanding of building for web.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to connect and influence people.
- You’re a fabulous team player, but equally great at demonstrating initiative and autonomy as required.
- Adept at working under pressure in a very fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- And most importantly, someone nice to have around that will roll up their sleeves with a real can-do attitude and a willingness to get on with the job and make great things happen.
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of Web APIs and how to consume them
- Knowledge of Software design patterns, data structures and best practices
- Exposure to message queuing systems such as RabbitMQ.
- Experience working with CI/CD systems such as TeamCity, GitLab CI or Azure Devops
- Working under time pressures with an understanding of the importance of delivering on time.
- We are keen on someone who is willing to experiment, try new things and then share them with the team, someone who is creative and passionate about what they do.
Required/Desired Knowledge & Experience:
- A bachelors or masters degree in Computing Science or similar relevant field.
- A portfolio of working software/web solutions.
- Experience dealing with clients, this can be from a traditional customer facing role but communication is vital.
- A polite, professional demeanour and attitude.
- A year of industrial experience (not required but highly valuable).
- Keeps abreast on new trends and technology
- Interest and passion for sport (although this is not a must have!)

Our office is in the heart of Leeds city centre, with Leeds Train Station a stone’s throw away.
A minimum of 4 days a week in the office during probation period then a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
